Furniture for the Maria Sisters
Furniture for the Maria Sisters explores the intersections between novel and installation - particularly how the content of the book can be altered through the experience surrounding its readings. Return of the Super Maria Sisters is an experimental fiction novel that follows two female characters, Maria and Luisa, through their journey of posthuman-ness. The text explores the various contemporary theories of Rosi Braidotti and N. Katherine Hayles through an architectural narrative infrastructure, which is mirrored in the installations adjusting height structures. With influences from Deleuze and Guattari, Kafka, and eastern philosophies, Maria, Luisa, and the furniture attempt to redefine the posthuman consciousness for contemporary beings.
